Kim Bendix
Founder and CEO of The YugenHaus, Creator of The Tangram
Growing up on the Northwest side of Chicago, I knew from a young age that my life path was not going to be conventional. I had moved over 70 times, been to 16 different schools, and at times lived in motels, on couches, or out of the trunk of my car. Despite this, I immersed myself in reading and knowledge; having spent most of my time with my nose in a book or learning a new hobby or skill. My strengths are passion, empathy, grit, and perseverance which was evident when I graduated high school early (despite being homeless), and in the way I was able to mentor those seeking help even as a child experiencing despair myself.
Having spent almost two decades in the Entertainment Industry as an actor, I took a leap of faith and began my undergraduate degree in Psychology and again for my masters degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology.
Somehow during all of this, I managed to lose 100 pounds while pursuing my degree and building a successful career as a Human Resources Business Partner. When I’m not busy saving the world, I spend my spare time researching Positive and Motivational Psychology, Industrial & Organization Psychology, Scientific Research Journals, and of course spending as much time in Nature as possible.
Using my years of personal and professional development, research, and unique life experiences, I help others uncover wellbeing deficits and build personalized and detailed workforce plans to help them grow. I also mentor individuals via The Tangram, a program I created to help refocus attention, responses, thoughts, and conscious choices to increase adaptability, discipline, and resilience with any goal.
Today, I dedicate myself and my work to those seeking guidance and direction as they navigate through change.
